What's Happenning?
We are currently posting the stories, as they happened, for the 2011-2012 season. So, read-along and re-live the moments of glory with The Dragons. Turn back the clock and imagine you are in the late fall. The leaves are changing color. It's getting a bit chilly. But, here come The Dragons!
Unfortunately, will not be able to participate in the Cardinal Tournament as it conflicts with Parents' Weekend. However, a very gracious high school water polo program in Greenwhich, CT, invited us for a few games during a weekend when we could travel. In addition, one of our New England Prep School cousins, known as The Big Green, shuffled their schedule so they could join the play-in. This gave all the teams a nice round-robin format with 4 teams:
- Cardinal A
- Cardinal B
- Big Green
- Dragons
The first game put the Dragons against well known Cardinal-A team. It turned out to be a very good game for both teams.
In the end, the Cardinal-A team bested the Dragons 15 - 9.
Game 2 had the promise of an slightly easier game for the Dragons versus Cardinal-B. However, it was not so. The Dragons did not match the energy they displayed in Game 1. The Dragons fell 7 - 13.

Dragons lose steam at Game 4 of BoE Tournament.
It was a tough on against The Quakers, a familiar rival just over the state border. After jumping to an early 2-0 lead in Q1, the Dragons could not fan their flame. Captain Groan got into foul trouble early and did not last much into Q3.

Lady Dragons Win Flight II Champs!
After splitting their games on Friday night, the Lady Dragons met the boys at the Flight II Champs. Unlike the Boys, however, the Lady Dragons took 2 victories early in the day to advance to the Flight II Championship Game in the evening.
The Lady Dragons also took time to refuel and have some fun outside the pool.

Game 2 at BoE: Dragons Play Hard but Flame Out
The Dragons claimed the lead against the much gloried Wildcats at the end of Q1.
This video below shows the good defense the Dragons were playing and then a power play conversion for a goal in the shallow end:
Unfortunately, the incessant swimming of the Wildcat offense eventually extinguished the Dragon flame in this game. Well played by the Dragons, even though they fell 13-18.
Game 3's a Charm for the Dragons
Sep-24-2011: That Dragons got up early in the morning and shook of the previous night's loss to the Wildcats. This morning, they faced off against The Trojans from Erie, PA.
It might have been a good night's sleep or that the Dragons are morning person. However, final score was 19-3 in favor of the Dragons.
